Jane Mannion’s School of Dance (JMSD) was born in 1981 in the basement of Jane Mannion’s home in Highland, Illinois. As an accomplished and recognized instructor and choreographer, Jane has developed dancers and artists that have gone on to pursue careers in dance, modeling and acting.

JMSD has also produced individuals who have danced and cheered for Division I & II universities, including: Arizona State, Chapman University, Lindenwood University, University of Kansas, University of Kentucky, University of Memphis, University of Missouri, Truman State, among others.

The staff at JMSD has over 150 years of combined dance experience and ranks second to none in quality of dance instruction. They go to great lengths to ensure the success of their studio and its dancers.

Jane Mannion’s School of Dance offers a variety of classes from ballet, tap, and jazz to gymnastics, cheerleading, and creative movement. We offer classes for children and adults. Check out our class descriptions for more information.

Regional, National & International Competitions
Jane Mannion’s School of Dance has a rich history of success including over 25 National Championships that have been compiled by our national competitive dance teams in the last 10 years. Competition students have received numerous awards both regionally and nationally. Students have competed both nationally and internationally, traveling to Spain, Italy, Australia, as well as all over the United States.

Dance Conventions
Jane Mannion students have also traveled to attend major conventions, including: The Pulse, Dance Power Express, Dance USA’s Dance Jam, Adrenaline, Jump, CO Dance and LA Dance Magic, receiving scholarships to Broadway Dance Center, The Edge, Pacific Coast Dance Fest, Adrenaline Summer Intensives and more.

Local Events
Despite the national travel for competitions and performances, Jane Mannion’s dancers retain a strong connection to their home in Illinois. JMSD can be seen showcasing their award-winning talents for local audiences at such events as:
